The Greene County Medical Center is participating in National Hospitals Week.

CEO Chad Butterfield says National Hospitals Week is a chance to celebrate all of the 206 team members and the board of trustees for the work they do at the medical center.

“One of our core beliefs at Greene County Medical Center is that each and every team member is as important as the next one. Stated differently, there is nobody that’s more important than the next person. Each and every month we have general orientation and I get the opportunity to talk with everybody and I make sure that that message comes directly from me to them so that they understand that everybody is important and everybody is the key to our success.”

Butterfield notes that there are activities and events happening everyday this week, including today being a retreat for the seven-member board of trustees.

“But most importantly, I can’t thank them enough, each of the board of trustees, for all of their leadership and their support that they provide to me personally and then our entire senior team and the medical center. They really help to make sure that we’re heading in the correct direction, heading in the direction that’s best for the community. So they are instrumental in all of our success.”

The other activities that are happening this week are food trucks for the employees tomorrow, pizza and putt putt trivia on Thursday, hosting Java and Juice on Friday for the public at 9:30am, while also catering Bet and Bev’s BBQ for the evening shift, and a pancake breakfast on Saturday morning at the Baptist Church in Jefferson. Monday was breakfast for all employees.
