A newer employee at the McCreary Community Building in Perry speaks about responsibilities of the role.

Marco Perla, who now serves as the organization’s Recreational Coordinator, tells Raccoon Valley Radio that he’s in charge of both youth and adult programs. He names softball and youth soccer as the current activities that are happening at the moment and encourages people to help volunteer as coaches. Perla took over the responsibilities from Deputy Parks & Rec Director Becky Halling as he dives deeper into the areas he manages.

“I’m mainly in charge of the gym inside the rec center. I paint lines, I’ll do setups for softball, sand volleyball will come up and I set up the nets for that, and prep the fields.”

Perla says he feels grateful to have taken over for Halling and is looking forward to continuing to grow in the role. The McCreary Community Building is open seven days a week with varying hours. They can be reached at (515)-465-5621.
