The state track meet begins on Thursday and will feature a good amount of athletes from Adel-DeSoto-Minburn.
The state competition runs Thursday through Saturday at Drake University in Des Moines and ADM has a number of boys, girls, and relay teams participating. Starting with the girls, they will have Sophomore Lauren Hagedorn and Junior Taylor Braun in the discus throw, Junior London Warmuth in the high jump, Junior Kennedy Stanford in the shot put, and Juniors Aniston Tollari and Calli Seehase in the long jump.
The Tigers also are taking Junior Jada Grove and Senior Jordis Ichelson for the 100 meters, Sophomore Madelyn Roundcount in the 400 meters, Sophomores Elise Coghlan and Haley Nelson in the 100 meter hurdles, while Coghlan will also be in the 400 meters hurdles with Junior Madi James, and Freshman Cora Shirley-Brown in the girls 1500 meters.
ADM’s Girls relays include the 4×100 shuttle hurdles, 4×800, girls distance medley, 4×200, 4×100, and 4×400.
On the boys side, Juniors Kyler Chapman and Will Grasty will participate in the boys high jump, Senior Drew Hickey will throw in the discus and shot put, and Senior Tyler Gelhaar will be in the long jump. In the individual running events, Seniors Brevin Doll and Aiden Flora will run in the 100 and 200 meter dash, Junior Cameron Forgy will be in the 400 meters, Junior Corbin Reed and Senior Luke Krantz will compete in the 110 meters hurdles, and Senior Zach Lohmann is running in the 400 meters low hurdles.
ADM’s Boys relays feature the 4×110 shuttle hurdles, the distance medley, the sprint medley, 4×200, the 4×100, and the 4×400.
