A town hall meeting is taking place on Monday at the Adel Public Library to spread awareness about power-operated doors.

A press release explains that Dallas County resident Robert Fisher is leading the meeting to raise awareness about the importance of power-operated doors and helping to make local businesses accessible. Robert’s mother Marsha tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the purpose of the program is to bring awareness of the benefits for power-operated doors.

“Not just for people with disabilities, but to those people that have a business because it opens up a lot more opportunities as well as goodwill and publicity for the businesses.”

The meeting will be held Monday afternoon from 4:30-5:30pm at the Adel Library with Iowa House Representative David Young, Iowa Senator Sarah Trone-Garriott, and a representative from US Senator Chuck Grassley are planning to be in attendance. The town hall is open to the public.
