The Guthrie Center Lions Club has several things they do in the Guthrie Center Community.

Member Kris Langgaard mentions that the main goal of the organization is to provide help and programs for children. He explains that they help with screenings for children, Meals on Wheels, and provides assistance to children that want or need to attend Hertko Hollow, a youth camp north of Boone for children with Type 1 diabetes. Langgaard mentions for those children wishing to attend Hertko Hollow, the Lions cover the tuition fee for them, as well as the tuition fee for their siblings, should they wish to attend the camp meant as a support for those attending Hertko Hollow.
