A department within Perry High School will be participating in a musical showcase at the end of May.

The school’s drama department is performing at the Iowa High School Musical Theater Awards Showcase on May 30th in Des Moines. According to the high school, the drama department was invited to be recognized for the achievement of their “SpongeBob Musical” that was held in April. A press release states that a special video will be shown during the showcase as they are nominated for the Outstanding Overall Technical and Creative Achievement Award. 

Perry High School announces that seniors Maddy Hollingsworth and Alexa Nelson will take the stage to perform a collaborative inter-school medley with Senior Riley Sergent participating in the Triple Threat Award program and Senior Emily Dowd will be serving as a Student Assistant Stage Manager for the showcase. Tickets for the showcase go on sale on May 17th and cost $15. The Awards Showcase will be held at the Des Moines Civic Center at 7pm on May 30th.
