May 9th Guthrie County Hospital recognized some of their staff.

GCH held their awards ceremony to hand out the Diseases Attacking the Immune SYstem (DAISY) Award and Sunshine Award, along with recognizing one nurse who was named one of Iowa’s 100 Greatest Nurses for 2024. The 2024 DAISY Award winner was Dale Peterson. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio how it felt to receive the award.

“It feels good to know that what we do every day is appreciated and people actually recognize it.”

The Sunshine Award nominees were Mindi Brittain, LaRoyce Kress and Chris Schactner, with Kress receiving the award for 2024. Jentry Hise was also recognized as one of Iowa’s 100 Great Nurses for 2024.
