A Scranton man was recently sentenced to jail and probation for a theft incident in Grand Junction.

According to court documents, 23-year-old Jessie Sanders pled guilty to a lesser charge of a serious misdemeanor for fourth degree theft. He had all but ten days of a 60 day jail sentence suspended and will be placed on probation for one year with the Boone and Greene County Probation Services.

The charge stemmed from an investigation by the Greene County Sheriff’s Office from this past March. Sanders was seen at a neighboring trailer to his residence at 800 Percival in Grand Junction. Sanders was pulling up carpet and removed items from the trailer that was being worked on to show another tenant.

Sanders was also ordered to pay over $1,200 for fines, surcharges, court-appointed attorney fees and court costs. As per the plea agreement, the Class D Felony for third degree burglary was amended to the serious misdemeanor and his simple misdemeanor for fifth degree criminal mischief was dismissed.
