Thunderstorms in Greene and Dallas Counties produced rainfall and hail on Wednesday.

Raccoon Valley Radio’s Severe Weather Action Team was activated Wednesday evening a little after 6:15pm as a thunderstorm warning was issued from the National Weather Service for northeastern Greene County with radar indicated hazards including 60 mph winds and quarter size hail. The warning  expired at 6:34pm. 

Following that, the National Weather Service issued another severe thunderstorm warning for northern Dallas County at 6:40pm. According to the Minburn Fire Department, there were reports of pea to dime sized hail, one and a half miles southwest of Minburn and also brought some rain. The Dallas Center Fire Department reported pea size hail in Dallas Center. The warning expired at 8pm. 

There were five Raccoon Valley Radio employees, along with Weatherology, and the Minburn and Dallas Center Fire Departments were apart of the coverage. Raccoon Valley Radio’s Severe Weather Action Team provides live coverage of severe thunderstorm or tornado warnings for Dallas, Greene and Guthrie counties  until the storms move out of the coverage area or drop below severe levels.
