Coach Maribel Hernandez’ Greene County High School girls’ soccer team traveled to Nevada on Tuesday night and lost to the Cubs by a 18-0 score in Heart of Iowa Activities Conference play. The Rams fell to 0-10 while the Cubs improved to 10-4. The game lasted the minimum of one half due to the 10 goal rule.

Coach Hernandez told Raccoon Valley Radio her team did not get any shots on goal. “We played a tough game and stuck with them the whole time,” the coach told Raccoon Valley Radio. Ram goalkeeper Lucy Vander Linden had 10 saves.

Greene County plays its final regular season matches in Wall Lake on Friday vs. East Sac County with the boys playing at 5:30 p.m. and the girls to follow. The Rams play the first round of Class 1A regional tournament soccer on Monday, May 13 in Avoca vs. AHSTW at 7 p.m.
