With the end of the 2024 Iowa Legislative Session happening roughly on time, legislators are back to their normal lives.
Representative for District 23 Ray Sorensen says it’s good to be finished with the session, even though he enjoys the legislative process. He mentions he’s glad to put the long days behind him until another time, and get back to his business. Sorensen explains that legislators in both chambers have full-time jobs outside of being in the capitol, while others are retired. He adds that he’s ready to get back to painting murals, as he and his wife run Sorensen Studios. Sorensen is the artist behind the Freedom Rocks, and does touch ups each year to a few, along with redoing the original on Highway 25, just south of Interstate 80.
