Not much has changed since last month with drought conditions in the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area.

According to the US Drought Monitor Dallas, Greene and Guthrie counties continue to be in a moderate drought. Despite drought conditions remaining stagnant, the state of Iowa continues to receive precipitation with Guthrie, Greene, and Dallas counties each getting a fair amount of rain. The National Weather Service reports that Perry received a total of 2.92 inches of precipitation during the month of April, while Jefferson saw 2.53 inches and Guthrie Center received 2.35 inches. 

According to the National Weather Service, so far in May, Jefferson has already garnered 1.33 inches of rain and Guthrie Center is at 0.97. No information is available for Perry at this time.
