Wednesday, May 1st

6:03am: Public Works reported a vehicle parked at 106 North Olive Street, blocking their access to the building. The officer located the owner, who moved the vehicle.

9:15am: Julie Allender reported her vehicle had broken down and would be parked in the 300 Block of Greenewood Road. She advised it would be removed as soon as possible.

10:43am: An officer stopped a subject on a bicycle near Clark and Vine Streets. The subject was traveling on the wrong side of the road. During the interaction, the officer was given consent to search a duffle bag. Suspected narcotics and paraphernalia was seized for testing.

11:45am: A caller spoke with an officer concerning drug usage at a Jefferson residence. The officer is investigating.

12:34pm: Casey’s reported a Stray Dog at 508 North Elm Street. The officer was unable to locate the reported animal.

4:36pm: Levi Helms reported a Careless Driver near Elm and Clark Streets. The officer did not locate the vehicle.

4:58pm: An officer spoke to two parties concerning a Civil Child Custody Issue. Both parties were advised to speak with their attorney.

6:08pm: An officer investigated an accident at North Elm and Central Avenue. A 2003 Chevrolet K1500, owned and operated by Beau Davis of Grand Junction, was southbound on Elm. A 1997 Chevrolet S-10, owned and operated by Michael Rumley of Jefferson, was traveling northbound on Elm. Davis made a left turn in front of the Rumley vehicle. The two collided in the intersection. Each vehicle had a reported $5000.00 in damages. Davis was cited for, “Fail to Yield Upon Left Turn.”

8:00pm: An officer assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical Call in the 100 Block of South Grimmell Road.

Thursday, May 2nd

1:41am: An officer located an Open Door at 509 E. Gallop Road. The officer searched and secured the building.

9:22am: Michael Wells reported a possum running in his neighborhood of the 700 Block of South Locust Street. The officer offered a live trap.

10:13am: A caller requested a Welfare Check on a female at 501 West State Street. The officer attempted to make contact, but was denied.

12:19pm: Brenda Ure reported a subject not acting normal at 301 West Reed Street. The officer located the subject and checked on him.

6:44pm: A Traffic Stop in the 300 Block of West Clark Street resulted in Devin Schmit of Jefferson being cited for, “dark Windows.”

7:40pm: The Wild Rose Casino reported a subject had been ejected from the facility for being intoxicated. They reported she entered a vehicle in the parking lot and thought she may drive away. The officer arrived and spoke to the subject as friends arrived to take her home.

8:15pm: Hy-Vee Fast & Fresh reported finding a baggy on the floor containing possible narcotics. The area where the item was found was not covered by cameras. The officer will destroy the substance.

******** Officers issued (3) Parking Violations for, “Street Sweeping Parking Violation.”
