The Perry Public Library is celebrating Star Wars Day with two separate themed scavenger hunts later this week.

The library announces a “Use the Force Children’s” and “Seeking Skywalker Tween/Teen” scavenger hunt beginning on Friday at 10am. According to Youth Services Librarian Laura Pieper, both programs will run for a week (May 3rd-10th) allowing participants to search for Star Wars characters. Pieper elaborates how the children’s program will operate.

“Search for Star Wars characters around the children’s area, and when they find them all, bring them up to the library, they’ll be little cards from characters from Star Wars, and they can win a Star Wars themed prize.”

Pieper shares details pertaining to the teen program.

“They’ll be following clues all around the library from all three of the Star Wars trilogies. Something from the Clone Wars, or maybe Luke Skywalker, and even from the newer sequel movies as well.”

Pieper says both programs are free with no registration required. She mentions that the children’s program is geared towards 5-10 year olds and the teen program is for youth 11-18. For more information, contact the Perry Library at (515)-465-3569.
