The US House of Representatives is in turmoil once again in consideration of their Speaker of the House.
A handful of Republican Representatives are once again calling for the removal of the Speaker, this time with it being Mike Johnson. They are upset that he helped advance a foreign aid bill before securing the US/Mexico border. US Representative Zach Nunn shares on his stance towards Speaker Johnson.
“So I’ve been very aggressive with both the Speaker and everybody else, that I want to vote for the Third (Iowa) District. Now, what I will say is he’s given me that opportunity. Every chance I’ve asked for it. For that reason, I want to see a DC that is functioning, and a DC that is allowed to fight for Iowa’s values. And this Speaker has afforded me that opportunity.”
Nunn continues that he’s not in support of removing Johnson at this time, as it would just put the House into chaos once again. He adds that it’s frustrating that anyone on either side of the isle would want to go back into the chaos, as they have a job to represent the citizens of the US.
