The Panora City Council met in regular session Monday night.

The Council held a public hearing regarding the fiscal year 2024-25 budget, and with no written or verbal comments, a resolution to accept the budget was approved. They then approved an application for tax exemption status for 404 Jackson Street, then heard from Public Works Director Ismael Galvan on the proposed sale of a 1997 Ford street sweeper and various equipment, along with the trade in of the 1995 Bobcat skid loader.

The sale of the street sweeper, four water pumps, two generators and a power sander on GovDeals.com with no reserve was approved, and the trade in of the skid loader for a mowing attachment was approved as well. Should a trade not be possible, then the skid loader will also be sold on GovDeals.com with no reserve. The Council approved the installation of a valve at the water treatment plant, to be carried out by Story Construction for $7,007, along with reimbursement on a Community Development Building Grant contract for $5,299. This also included two payments matching the $5,299, one from TDS Industries LLC for $4,227 and the other for $1,072 for administrative costs to Region XII Council of Governments.
