A fun program for young children and families is still open for registration at the Mary J Barnett Memorial Library.
Library Director Jerri Hawkins says the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten Program is a great way to help promote reading and learning skills early on in a child’s life, and is available for all families with children between the ages of newborn and five years old. She adds that the program has a large selection of age appropriate books, meaning there’s endless possibilities on what might be found at storytime. The program is also free of charge. For more information or to register, contact the library by calling 641-747-8110 or visiting their website at www.guthriecenter.lib.ia.us.
