The Dallas County Conservation Board will be holding its final major program for April on Saturday.

The conservation board is hosting a garlic mustard removal program at the Voas Nature Area, 19286 Lexington Road, in Minburn Saturday morning from 9-11:30am. Outreach Coordinator Sarah McKeever tells Raccoon Valley Radio that garlic mustard is an invasive plant species and is inviting people to come help remove it.

“It is really easy to just pull up out of the ground with your hands, no saw is required. So if you’ve wanted to volunteer at Voas and you’ve been intimidated by some of that heavier labor, come check out the garlic mustard removal, it might be more your speed, children are welcomed and encouraged to come as well.”

McKeever describes these types of programs happen often to engage volunteers to remove different invasive species.
