The City of Perry will be featured with 13 other Iowa cities for urban water quality projects.

Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig recently announced that the Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship is investing in water quality projects around the state with Perry receiving $250,000. According to a press release, the city is using stormwater best management practices throughout a project for the downtown streetscape.

The release notes that improvements will treat water from highly impervious surfaces and reduce the runoff from the areas. The department is looking at an overall investment of approximately $10,000,000 (10 million) across the 14 projects in the state.
