Perry High School offered a sweet gesture back to Adel-DeSoto-Minburn High School, that gave a donation following the shooting on January 4th.

The Perry School District has received tremendous support since the horrific event that took place killing a sixth grader and a former principal. ADM banded together, deciding to help Perry out by giving a donation in order to contribute to paying for prom. According to Perry Prom Committee Member Amy Diaz, the initial check was for $1,700. She explains that the Perry students wanted to return the gesture.

“We asked their (high school) principal if we could go and surprise them and give them the gift in return for helping us when we needed it.”

Diaz highlights that the committee agreed to raise the amount to $2,000 to give back to ADM as a way to thank them for their generosity. Perry’s prom is happening this Saturday, while ADM will hold their prom next Saturday, May 4th.
