he Jefferson City Council will meet tomorrow evening.
The meeting will begin with a public hearing on the 2025 fiscal year budget, followed by a possible adoption of the budget and certified city taxes. The Council will then set a public hearing for the 2024 fiscal year budget amendment. Additionally, the Council will consider for approval a resolution awarding the general obligation bonds for corporate purpose, a sewer bill forgiveness, appointing an interim water superintendent, and a proposal from OPN Architects for a possible expansion project at the community center.
The Council will also consider for approval the fourth change order and an amendment to the engineer’s contract for the Wastewater Treatment Plant improvement project, an equipment purchase for the Public Works Department, a resolution for workforce housing tax credits incentive application for the Iowa Economic Development Authority for a housing developer, a resolution for a tentative settlement agreement negotiated by EMC Insurance for Jamie Brenner, and hiring a patrol officer. They will also consider approving a resolution for a plat of survey and the recycling ordinance.
