The 2024 FFA State Convention was recently held and several Greene County High School students attended.
One area that Advisor Raelyn Harris was pleased with were the different competitions that the students did well and earned some high marks. Sophomore Leah McCormick took her public speaking speech that had qualified from the district contest and received a silver award. McCormick was also a part of the ag biotechnology entry with Autumn Barrett, Jennier Robbins and Rozella Helms that earned a silver award.
Additionally, the ag communications group with Elise Badger, Kayla Frederick, Allison Fields, and Adysen Gries finished seventh place and earned a gold award. Barrett also received a silver award for her performance in the Greenhand Quiz. There was also a bronze award for poultry evaluation.
Harris points out that the student also attended a career and college expo, danced at the FFA Fun Night, along with hearing from keynote speakers, and seven middle school students participated in workshops. The full list of the students that competed in different events can be found below.
