A new student collage is on display at the Des Moines Area Community College VanKirk Center in Perry.

DMACC recently announced that the VanKirk Center collage is located at the front entrance, featuring pictures of students, and inspiring quotes from community heroes throughout history. Perry DMACC Director Eddie Diaz explains the idea behind the artwork.

“We wanted students to be able to see themselves at home here at the center, and this was a way for them to feel more connected and valued.”

Diaz points to other DMACC institutions in the area that share similar artwork, specifically to the campus student center in Carroll. He also illustrates that the collage will be updated every couple of years with new pictures and quotes.
