A notice for Jefferson residents that the water mains will be flushed for the spring season next week.
According to the Water Department, on Monday the northern portion of town, from the north side of Adams Street to just north of Highway 30 will be flushed from 8-11:45am. Later that day from 1-3:30pm water mains from the south side of Adams Street to Highway 4 and south to West Lincoln Way will be done.
Then on Tuesday morning from 4-7am, households from south side of Adams Street from Highway 4 east and south to Harrison Street will have water mains flushed, followed by 8-11:45am for households from West Lincoln Way and Grimmell Road to Highway 4, along with Harrison Street south to Garfield Street will be done. Then from 9-11:45am will be from Grimmell Road west to city limits. Then from 1-3:30pm it will be from the southern portion of town from Park and Brackett Streets east through the rest of town and south to Park Avenue South and past Ram Drive.
Finally, on Wednesday, the very southern part of town will have their water mains flushed.
The Water Department recommends to avoid doing laundry on the day that the water mains in your area are being flushed. Rust color may be prevalent when you turn on the tap, but will subside after the water runs. This is caused by the water mains being flushed.
