The Perry high school girls and boys competed in Monday’s Ram Relays in Jefferson hosted by Greene County. The event was an eight team coed track & field meet with the Jayettes finishing in a fifth place tie, and the Blue Jays coming in eighth. Boone won the team title for girls with 105 points, followed by Carroll at 83, Webster City 77, Fort Dodge Senior High 76, Perry and Greene County both had 66, then came Kuemper Catholic (Carroll) 57, and 47 for ACGC. ACGC had 112 points to win the boys’ title with 97 each from Greene County and Carroll. Boone had 86 points with 79 by Kuemper Catholic, 58 from Fort Dodge St. Edmond, 32 from Webster City, and 24 for the Blue Jays.

Leading the way for the Blue Jays was junior Owen Myers with a pair of first place finishes. Myers won the 400 meter dash in 53.50 seconds, then took first in the 400 meter low hurdles in 56.82 seconds.

The Perry girls had a first place finish in the  4 x 400 meter relay in 4:27.16 with Taryn Nehring, Lily Myers, Myiah Meis, and Cate Erickson. Myers won the 3,000 meter run in 12:21.70, with Treasure Moore second in the 100 meter dash in :13.48, and the sprint medley relay second in 2:00.81 with Nehring, Litzy Rameriz, Moore, and Erickson.
