There is a potential for some severe weather for the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area.

National Weather Service Meteorologist Rod Donavon says that the strong to severe thunderstorms will most likely be seen Monday night through Tuesday, with the possibility of some hail. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio what will be causing the weather in the area.

“We have a pretty strong system which is actually bringing in the warmer air this weekend. And then that system will be arriving into the region as we get into early next week, and basically we have (a) fairly strong cold front that will be coming down as well. And really, the interaction between that and the warm and the colder air is going to help generate some of these stronger thunderstorms.”

Donavon mentions that once the system moves through, the area should see temperatures return to the seasonal norm, with the possibility of cooler conditions late in the week.
