Greene County played 18 holes of boys’ golf on Thursday at an 18 hole event hosted by Des Moines Christian. The Rams tied for fourth place with 346 strokes. The team title went to Panorama with 330 strokes, one shot ahead of Treynor’s 331. PMC (Monroe) shot 345 with the Rams and host DMC both at 346. Pleasantville was next at 351, followed by Hampton-Dumont at 362, with Coon Rapids-Bayard and Earlham both at 366.

The Rams were led by senior Jack Hansen with an 18 hole score of 81, good for tying for the third best score on a very windy day, but he was fourth via the card back tie-breaker. Senior Nathan Behne shot 87 with 88 by sophomore Nathan Towers, and 90 from sophomore Broc Stream.

Coach Kyle Kinne told Raccoon Valley Radio the team shot 25 strokes better than a year ago at the same tournament, even though the weather wasn’t good. Of the competition, Kinned added, “That’s a stacked field that all should finish first or second in the conference.”
