Greene County High School senior Gesser Gutierres is the early season leader in Iowa in goals scored for boys’ soccer players. His two game total of 14 goals is more than anyone else in the state. Gutierres scored six times in the Rams 7-2 season opening victory last week vs. Central Iowa United, based at West Marshall in State Center, then he added a career best eight goals on Monday of this week vs. Boone when Greene County won 11-1 in a contest shortened by the 10-goal rule.
Coach Carl Behne’s Rams will be on the road at Carroll Athletic Field tomorrow for JV/varsity action vs. the Carroll Tigers with the JV contest at 5:30 p.m. and the varsity to follow.
