Construction update for the new administration building was part of the Dallas County Board of Supervisors meeting on Tuesday.

The Board was shown pictures of the interior of the building to see the progress. The building is on track to open in September and that the parking is expected to be completed by this summer. Also, with the building, a pay application in the amount of $1,974,715.42 with Turner Construction Company was approved.

Kristofer Orth, of Farnsworth Group, presented to the Board the possibility of having a time capsule under the building but Board Member Mark Hanson preferred to have historic items out for public display instead of buried under the ground. Board Member Kim Chapman agreed with Hanson, and the decision was made to not move forward with the time capsule idea.

Other items on the agenda that were approved included a Child Abuse Prevention Month Proclamation and pinwheel and lighting request, setting a public hearing for the fiscal year 2025 presentation for April 23rd with no time set yet, a Greene County shared public safety radio tower 28E agreement for the City of Jefferson, awarded a bid for County Road P46 Paving project for $5,732,800.58.

Some additional items that were approved was abatement of mobile home taxes as presented, and a review of the Construction Manager At Risk notice of intent.
