April is known National Child Abuse Prevention Month, and a representative from the Dallas County Children Advocacy Council details the theme for 2024.

Valerie Cameron, who is a member of the council, shares with Raccoon Valley Radio that the theme for this year is “Building a Hopeful Future Together.” Cameron says that a banner will be located at the human services building in Adel. She explains that the process of developing a healthier community requires determination.

“Building healthy communities takes work. We all have responsibilities to ensure that children have positive experiences and help families have the resources they need when they need them.”

Cameron details that paper bags will be given away by Kids Corner at the Adel Fareway and that River to River Bakery and Pizza will sell a blue donut for the month of April.
