The Audubon Early Bird track and field meet for girls was held on Thursday with Greene County and Paton-Churdan in the field.
Coach Derek Merk’s Rams were in their second outdoor meet after competing three times indoors, but the coach told Raccoon Valley Radio that this meet was the first time the full squad competed. The highest finish for the Rams was from Daniele Madsen, who was second in the shot put at 33′ 6″. Kaycie Pittman was third in the 400 meter dash at 1:04.37, and two high jumpers were in the top six. Calleigh Fitzpatrick went 4′ 8″ to place fourth and Payton Kokenge was sixth at 4′ 6″. Savannah Lansman was sixth in the long jump at 14′ 2″. Emma Ewalt had a fifth place finish in the discus throw at 97′ 4″. The 4 x 400 meter relay was fifth in 4:40.29 with Lansman, Addison Gannon, Kokenge, and Kaycee Pittman. The 4 x 100 relay was sixth with Lansman Lila Osterson, Gnnon, and Pittman in :55.86.
Coach Kory Jeschke’s Paton-Churdan girls were in their first meet of the season. The Rockets had no events place in the top 10.
