Dallas County Engineer Al Miller expects a normal spring weather pattern as work for several road projects begins.
Miller says he is thankful that the winter season was tamer than usual, especially during the snow blast in January. He claims that the secondary roads crew was fortunate that the snow didn’t stall any significant progress. Miller expects a little more moisture this spring during construction.
“I’m anticipating more of a normal season of precipitation. When you kind of get spoiled, we can work every day, you get a lot of work done, but I think in a normal year you’re going to see some rain out days and things like that. So, I would see that kind of offsetting our early start this year.”
The three main projects on the docket for the upcoming months include a repaving project from Highway 141 to the Greene County line, a repaving project with the City of Waukee on County Road R22 (U Avenue), and some road construction will be done on County Road P58 (K Avenue) between Old Highway 6 and Highway 44.
