National Crime Victims’ Rights Week will be held April 21st-27th, but Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) is having events next week, with one set in Perry.
DMACC will be at the Perry VanKirk Center on Wednesday from 3-7pm. According to DMACC, there will be graphic design student giveaways, crime victims’ rights historical panels, and public art opportunities. The college emphasizes that there will be a presentation on “The Cari Farvar Homicide,” a story walk for the book “Catching Flight: Soaring on the Wings of Birds,” and a domestic violence simulation.
DMACC highlights that National Crime Victims’ Rights Week has been an observance in Iowa since 1981. Again, DMACC will recognize the week with an event in Perry this Wednesday at the VanKirk Center from 3-7pm.
