The last few weeks of the 2024 Iowa Legislative session are here, and some are looking forward to the end of session.

Senator for District 12 Amy Sinclair says that the scheduled end to the session is April 16th. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio that just because that’s when legislators are scheduled to finish up, it doesn’t always happen that way.

“Hard to say it will be the exact date because you get snafus here and there in the legislative process. It’s kind of like making sausage, and sometimes you have to back up and fix anything here or there.”

Sinclair mentions that it did seem like things got started off slow for this session, but that they’ve picked up the pace. She adds that if things continue as they have, the session should end on schedule.
