A Boone woman was recently arrested on a warrant from a June 2023 incident in Grand Junction.
According to court documents, a warrant was issued on February 7th for 44-year-old Tanya Helmrichs for a Class D Felony for her third or subsequent offense for possession of a controlled substance violation. Helmrichs is accused of possessing methamphetamines in a Casey’s General Store in Grand Junction on June 4, 2023.
Court documents show that a baggie was found on the ground near a register inside Casey’s. An employee said Helmrichs and another individual stopped at the gas station and when a Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy reviewed the surveillance footage, Helmrichs was seen paying for several items when the same baggie that contained what appeared to be methamphetamine fell out of her shorts pocket. When questioned, Helmrichs denied the baggie was hers. The substance was sent to the Criminalistics Laboratory, where the results came back positive for less than one gram of methamphetamine.
Helmrichs was arrested on the warrant on March 24th in the 800 block of Percival Street in Grand Junction. She was booked into the Greene County Jail. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
