Although it’s not exactly premium golfing weather today, the Greene County High School golf teams will hold Media Day this afternoon. Heath Telleen is the girls’ coach and Kyle Kinne coaches the boys.

The Rams return quite a bit of experience to the boys’ team. Seniors Jack Hansen and Nathan Behne are back after Hansen led the team in scoring average in 2023 and Behne was a District Tournament qualifier a year ago. Typically, there are plenty of boys out for golf, so fielding both varsity and JV teams will likely not be an issue.

Unlike the boys, numbers have been an issue for the girls. There have been times in recent seasons, the Rams haven’t had enough girls to field a full varsity, let alone a JV squad. Expectations are there will be at least a few more girls playing golf for the Rams this season.
