A tribute band is going to perform in Jefferson on Saturday.
Fleetwood Mask is the only tribute band in the Americas that is endorsed by founding member of Fleetwood Mac, Mick Fleetwood and they are going to be at the Greene Room Events Center at Wild Rose Casino and Resort in Jefferson on Saturday at 8pm. Christopher Zerbe portrays lead guitarist from Fleetwood Mac Lindsey Buckingham and says their band, Fleetwood Mask, strives to be the most authentic looking and sounding of the original band.
Zerbe points out they try to look as close to each band member, have the most original instruments and sound the same as Fleetwood Mac. He talks about what it’s like to perform with Fleetwood Mask.
“For me, it’s a dream come true because I’ve been a Fleetwood Mac and Lindsey fan since ‘77. Lindsey’s truly the reason I ever even thought about playing guitar at all. So to be in the band and getting a chance to attempt to nail all of Lindsey’s parts, it’s a pretty tall order, but I’ll give it my best shot.”
Zerbe notes he’s met every member of Fleetwood Mac except for one.
“Save Stevie Nicks who I stood right next to but I didn’t officially meet her. But other members of the band have met Stevie a couple of times, actually.”
Zerbe says the show on Saturday will be done in two parts. The first set is one of three tours that Fleetwood Mac did, with the 1980 Tusk Tour, 1982 Mirage Tour, and 1996 The Dance Tour. Then after a short intermission, Zerbe says the band has a wardrobe change and will perform a Historic Best Of Tour from the band’s last 2014-15 tour. The show is at 8pm and the doors open at 7pm.
