The 10 Squared Women of Guthrie County recently announced who received their first quarter donation of 2024.

The Guthrie County Hospital Foundation, Guthrie County Fairgrounds and St. Thomas More Center were the nominated organizations. After the presentations were made, the group decided to make their donation to the Guthrie County Fairgrounds, and a total of $14,800 was awarded. The Fair Board has been doing work to the fairgrounds in an effort to update buildings and areas for over 16 years, with the largest project in recent times that began last year.

The Fair Board began efforts to replace the 4-H food stand and the livestock show ring, which has been in use since the 1950’s.The project began last fall, with a whopping $700,000 price tag. Much of the work has been completed, and the Fair Board anticipates that it should be finished by the time the fair takes place this year.
