There are two opportunities for Greene County residents to be involved in an organization that impacts the entire county.

Grow Greene County Gaming Corporation is seeking individuals to replace two retiring board members. GGCGC is the qualified sponsor organization and the gaming license holder for Wild Rose Casino in Jefferson. GGCGC has an agreement with Wild Rose to receive five percent of the adjusted gross revenue from the casino and give it to various organizations and groups. Part of those funds goes to the contiguous counties and another part is through various grants and other donations.

The two board members, whose terms end in September, are Lori Mannel from the Scranton area and Rick Morain of Jefferson. Applications must be submitted by April 8th and then the current board members determine two viable candidates that will undergo another process that includes a background check with the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation. You can click the link below for an application that can be either emailed to growgreenecounty@gmail.com or on their website.
