The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn School Board meeting was held last night and Mayor Jim Peters, who also serves as ADM’s Alumni Association Treasurer, gave the board an update of where the Victory Bell project is at.

Peters told the board that the association had an initial goal of $50,000 but held an event on February 24th and are now sitting at $52,500. He detailed that the bell would feature the ADM Tiger on the front and the quote “experiencing success today…achieving dreams tomorrow.” Peters then asked the school board if they would be the purchaser, which they agreed to be. According to Peters, the next steps is to have the school board approve the contract no later than May 13th. Following Peters, Dallas County Supervisors Mark Hanson expressed his support for the bell and noted that he will not be running for supervisors again after December. Instead, Hanson wants to be apart of the education board as he discussed that he had many family members that’s been apart of the education board and he wants to follow suit. He took a moment to introduce himself to the board.
