Steve Roberts, Co-Owner of Dexfield Diner and Pub in Redfield with his wife Kristy, gives an insight of plans to rebuild following the devastating fire last month.
The Roberts are waiting for the approval from insurance to begin work to start rebuilding the diner after a fire engulfed the building on February 26th. Steve tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the investigation is still ongoing to determine the cause of the fire. He highlights that the insurance company informed him that he can begin working on a specific section.
“The insurance company did reach out to me, told me that I could start on the far south building, which is the boutique side. They said we can clean it out and start gutting it. I haven’t got the ‘okay’ to start working on the restaurant side yet.”
Steve stresses that while work is being completed on rebuilding, he and his wife are raising money to help their employees in the meantime. The Dexfield Diner & Pub’s Facebook page will continue to give updates. A few GoFundMe accounts have been created to take donations.
