Two counties in the Raccoon Valley Radio area have lifted their countywide burn bans.
According to the State Fire Marshal’s Office, Greene and Dallas Counties had their burn bans lifted on March 15th. This means that residents in the rural areas can openly burn, as well as residents of incorporated cities that have ordinances that allow for open burning to happen this time of year.
However, the National Weather Service says there is a high fire danger for today. This means that after the recent rainfall, the strong winds will dry grasses and underbrush out quickly, and with relative humidity of 30-35 percent that can produce widespread fires. They suggest that no one conduct open burns today.
