The boys’ soccer program at Greene County High School is entering just its sixth season of competition (there were no Spring sports in 2020 due to the Pandemic), but a pattern of success on the pitch has been established. Head coach Carl Behne and assistant coach Chad Black have been the only coaches the program has had, and they’ve compiled a 61-31 overall record with three State Tournament appearances.
Greene County was 13-5 in 2023 with a Class 2A State Tournament appearance, losing in the quarterfinals to eventual State Champion Gilbert. Greene County has had winning records in all five previous campaigns with 10 or more victories every time. Expectations are high again in 2024 with several key members returning.
The Rams start practice on Monday, March 18. They’ll scrimmage on March 23 in Denison, then officially open the regular season on March 26 at 5:30 p.m. in Boone.
