The date has been set for a public hearing relating to the general fund tax levy for the next fiscal year for the City of Perry.

Perry City Administrator Sven Peterson says part of House File 718 that was passed May 4th, 2023 changed the budgeting process on the consolidated general fund tax levy. He explains that this process requires a public hearing, separate from the regular city council meeting. Peterson outlines when the hearing will take place.

“We will be having that public hearing meeting on April 1st at 5:30(pm) in the Towncraft Building exactly where we have the regular city council meetings.”

Peterson claims that the regular city council meeting will follow the public hearing at 6pm in the Towncraft Building, and that both meetings will be recorded and uploaded to YouTube. He encourages residents to attend in order to ask questions about the tax levy fund on April 1st.
