Perry Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti sheds light on ideas the chamber is behind for potential job fairs.
Pasutti believes that with the loss of the Tyson facility, that an impact will definitely be felt throughout the community. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio the chamber is working alongside community partners in Perry as well as regional resources and statewide agencies. Pasutti points to the idea of potentially holding job fairs.
“We are working on a number of job fairs, but not immediately. So, early April is when we’re planning. Again just to kind of let the news settle in, have a better understanding of what that means. We have until June, so some people are going to be waiting until then seeing if something else is happening and changing. And then others are ready to be proactive, and so kind of balancing that out a little bit too.”
Pasutti is trying to be sensitive to the community by recognizing the magnitude of the impact, but trying to understand it as well in different ways with the school district, city services, and more.
