The Adel Public Library is celebrating an iconic character’s birthday on Thursday.

The library is hosting a program titled “Fire Safety & Bears,” celebrating Smokey The Bear’s 80th Birthday with a special family program for kids on Thursday from 10-11am. Patron Services Manager Amy Puck highlights that this program is a collaboration with Dallas County Conservation for children eight years old or younger.
