A local Perry man has been arrested after allegedly striking his parents Saturday night at their home.

According to court documents, the incident happened at approximately 8pm where 33-year-old RD Nicolaisen assaulted his mother and father in their home, where he resides in the 12,800 block of Houston Avenue on Saturday. Nicolaisen caused bodily injury to both his parents, hitting them repeatedly with a closed fist. His mother had bruises and gashes on her forehead leaving her actively bleeding, while Nicolaisen’s father reported being assaulted by his son, causing a bloody nose and gash to the face. 

The documents note that Nicolaisen had a prior conviction for Domestic Abuse Assault in January of 2019 in Dallas County. Nicolaisen was charged with willful injury causing bodily injury, a Class D Felony, and Domestic Abuse Assault 2nd Offense, an aggravated misdemeanor. He has been booked into the Dallas County Jail on a $5,000 cash or surety bond and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on March 20th in the Dallas County District Court.
