Soccer practice begins today across the state of Iowa.  Last year the Bluejays went 11-8 and finished 2-2 in the Heart of Iowa Conference.  Perry would be one of eight teams remaining as they fell in the quarterfinals to Assumption.  The Bluejays have some big shoes to fill as members from last year’s squad Anthony Chavez, Alex Banuelos, and Julian Guzman are suiting up for Simpson College in Indianola now.  Luis Castro returns in net to anchor the defense and Jacobo Cerna-Gomez looks to have a bigger role after a stellar freshman season in limited action.  The first match of the year will be on March 30th in the Des Moines Hoover tournament.
