Perry City Administrator Sven Peterson outlines the plan of a local project happening.

The City of Perry has approved an additional overlay project involving Willis Avenue that will be worked on this summer, according to Peterson. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio that this project was bid through the Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT) and being worked on by Des Moines Asphalt. Peterson highlights that completing this project will help with the appearance of Perry.

“Very excited for that. It’s always a great way to spruce up some of those neighborhoods and getting Willis Avenue an overlay from about 17th Street to West 3rd Street, so definitely one heck of a stretch of Willis Avenue and there’s quite a few bumpy spots in between, so it’ll be nice to get that smoothed out.”

Peterson says the projects should be completed sometime this summer around June or July, although he notes that the council hasn’t discussed all the details yet.
