The Iowa Department of Education announced $3.5 million in grants that schools could apply for.
The Learning Beyond the Bell Grant would need to be used to improve before and after school programs, helping students to learn and explore interests outside the traditional school day. All Iowa schools are eligible to apply for up to $200,000 with the grant to either develop or expand before and after school programs. If awarded the grant, schools would need to implement the funds during the spring and summer, and into the beginning of the 2024-35 school year. Applications will be accepted at IowaGrants.gov, with a deadline of noon on March 29th.
